How to Remove Snapchat Captions From Saved Photos
Clean up captions from a saved Snapchat photo you own, while keeping the original framing and image detail intact.
On this page
A Snapchat caption becomes part of a saved image. If it covers a photo you own, you can create a cleaned copy by selecting the caption without changing the rest of the image.
Start with a narrow caption selection
Captions are often placed over a translucent strip or a shadow. Select the words and a small amount of the immediate background, but avoid extending the box into unrelated details. A smaller selection gives the editor less image area to rebuild.
Remove the caption in five steps
- Upload the saved image in JPG, PNG, or WebP format.
- Mark the caption area with one close selection.
- Run the edit and inspect the reconstructed background.
- If the caption crosses a face or a patterned object, process each section separately.
- Download the revised image after checking the result at normal viewing size and at full size.
If the caption includes a sticker
Graphic stickers and text captions are different visual problems. Remove the text first, then make a new selection for the sticker if needed. This keeps each reconstruction small and easier to review.
Only edit images you own or have explicit permission to modify.
